NCG Container Solutions SA and Megapak re-align their IBC market offering

National Container Group (NCG), a MAUSER Group company based in Durban South Africa, have concluded an agreement to acquire the IBC cage manufacturing line from Megapak Drums, a Division of Nampak LTD and Licensee of MAUSER Maschinentechnik GmbH.

From 1st July 2015 NCG will take over the marketing and sales of IBCs in the Sub Saharan Africa market. Megapak will continue the manufacturing of IBC bottles whereas cage manufacturing and final assembly will take place at a new facility adjacent to NCG’s new Reconditioning facility in Westmead Durban.

This strategic acquisition by NCG will support the continued growing demand of our customers in the Sub Saharan Africa region.

NCG will provide a single point of contact service for the supply of all IBC types, new and/or reconditioned. NCG plans to expand the product range of IBC types offered to the market.

NCG, as part of the MAUSER Group, are well positioned to simplify the supply chain process for IBC components and ensure security of supply.

The underlying motivation of this move is to provide a more efficient and sustainable service to current and prospective MAUSER IBC customers. This achieves further integration of the production of new IBCs with both NCG and Megapak fully committed to this objective.
